Providing Hope & Housing in Times of Crisis
Who He Was
Dylan was a light in this world.
He was born February 20, 2001 — my firstborn, the one who made me a mother at eighteen and taught me what it meant to build something for someone else. Dylan had a way of moving through the world that was entirely his own. He turned tension into laughter. He never let disagreements weigh too heavily. He had a word for the moments when things got too serious, when someone needed to be reminded not to take life so hard — he would just say "Dweewoo." A made-up word that meant everything.
He left us on June 2, 2023 — two days after I published my first book. I had written that book for him, in many ways. And then he was gone.
The Dylan Foundation was born from that transformation. Because grief needed somewhere to go and love needed somewhere to live — and because Dylan deserved to be a force in the world even after he left it. He spent his life caring about people who were struggling. This foundation is how we carry that forward.
The Mission
Every person deserves a place to rest, feel safe, and start again.
One of the biggest challenges families face in crisis is not having a safe place to stay. Whether it's due to job loss, unexpected hardship, or an emergency situation, the stress of not knowing where to turn can be overwhelming.
The Dylan Foundation provides temporary housing solutions and support to individuals and families in crisis — giving them the stability they need to rebuild. Every dollar donated goes directly toward housing assistance, shelter partnerships, and resources to help families find their footing again.
Providing stable, temporary housing solutions for individuals and families facing crisis
Connecting families with trusted local organizations and shelters for immediate support
Going beyond housing to help families access the tools and support they need to move forward
The Dweewoo Collection
dwee · woo | Dylan's word
Dylan had a way of turning tension into laughter. Whenever things got too heavy — an argument, a moment that needed to be let go, a silence that had gone on too long — he would just say it. Dweewoo. A word he invented that meant nothing and everything at once.
It was his way of diffusing tension, choosing humor over conflict, and reminding the people he loved not to take life too seriously. He even left little notes with "Dweewoo" written on them — his playful way of making peace, poking fun, or knowing when to walk away with a smile.
Every piece in the Dweewoo collection carries his spirit forward. When you wear it, you carry a little piece of Dylan with you — his joy, his humor, his unwavering belief that life should be lived with laughter. Proceeds from every purchase support The Dylan Foundation's housing mission.
